The Texas Army National Guard also helped salute our U.S. Soldiers by providing the Honor Guard and throwing in the game ball. Brigadier General James K. Brown, Deputy Commander of Logistics for the Texas Army National Guard, as well as Lieutenant Colonel Greg Chaney, Recruiting and Retention Commander of the Texas Army National Guard presented Mark Cuban, Dallas Mavericks owner; and Neal Hawks, founder of Seats for Soldiers, with flags- which were flown by American Soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan- during halftime in appreciation of their contributions in support of the U.S. military personnel.

After the game, Soldiers had the opportunity to meet and have their photo taken with the Mavericks players, in addition to personally speaking with BG Brown. For two hours, BG Brown personally spoke to each Soldier and humbly thanked them for their service.
“There is importance in being with the Soldiers that make those extreme sacrifices for our country.” BG Browns says, “I am extremely humbled and honored to be in the presence of this group of Soldiers.”
